Membership Eligibility

Absolutely anyone from the age of five can be a member.

There are many ways in which you can be involved; patrolling, training, coaching, competing, officiating and supporting or simply as a social or associate member.

If you are looking to join our voluntary patrols you would need to obtain a First Aid Certificate, Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion.

Children are invited to join our Nippers program from when they are 5 (prior to 1st October) and up to 13 (but not 14 prior to 1st October).  Young adults can join as Active (if they have an award) or Community members we encourage their participation in all club activities.

What will you get by being a member of the Smiths Beach Surf Life Saving Club?

Our club offers members access to many different training courses to gain skills which can open up many new pathways.

We'd also hope that in joining with likeminded people you would enjoy mateship and gain enjoyment from the areas that interest you, such as:

  • Competing in surf sports
