The club meets on Sunday mornings from 9am, our season starts in early November and finishes late March with a break taken over the Christmas period. (Refer to Season Calendar for specific dates).
Children are divided into age groups each of which has a manager who leads the training and education and who will be asisted by coaching and water safety officers. A child that attends the majority of the season will qualify for an education certificate that relates to the age group that they have participated in. Before commencing every child (not including U6's or U7's) is required to complete a proficiency swim that enables their age manager to test their swimming and floating skills. This evaluation is part of our duty of care to ensure member safety and is conducted at the Geographe Leisure Centre in Busselton, providing a safe environment for first time members to be evaluated in.
Under 6's & 7's
Children in these age groups will participate in activities on the water’s edge only and will need a parent to attend every session. Children take part in an education program that will cover dangers at the beach and how to recognise a lifesaver.
Under 8's to Under 13's
The activities for these age groups are based around having fun, learning about surf awareness and developing skills in surf sports. We require a parent to be in attendance during all activities. Children in these age groups follow an educational program to learn surf awareness, recognise dangers, the role of life savers and life guards and, how to be sun smart. We encourage our nippers to execise regularly and in particular to swim; the more swimming they do the more confidence they woill have in the ocean.
We have inter club competition days with other local clubs to enable our juniors to participate and get experience in a 'carnival' like envionment which is safe and familiar. We aspire for our members to take their skills and experience to the SLSWA run carnivals, which are run throughout the season, culminating in State Championships at the end of the season.
Cadets, Parents and Adults

We hope that you are able to join in with the many and varied tasks that are required to make the club operate to its best. If you are interested in obtaining one of a number of awards that will permit you to assit with water safety, please visit our training pages to find out more.
